1. Sponsor

The Iowa Wild Pheasant Hunt ("Sweepstakes") is sponsored by The Bearded Uplander ("Sponsor"). Sponsor's address is PO Box 45 N. Sioux City, SD, 57049-0045.

2. Eligibility

The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States who are 21 years of age or older as of the entry date and who can legally obtain an Iowa hunting license. Employees, affiliates, and immediate family members of Sponsor or any promotional partners are not eligible to enter or win. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law.

3. Sweepstakes Period

The Sweepstakes begins on February 1st, 2025 at 10:00am CST and ends on March 9th, 2025 at 6:00pm CST ("Sweepstakes Period"). Entries submitted before or after the Sweepstakes Period will not be eligible.

4. How to Enter

Participants may enter the Sweepstakes using one of the following methods:

a. Free Entry

Send a postcard with your full name, phone number, and email address to the following address:

Postcards must be postmarked no later than March 9th, 2025 and received by March 10th, 2025 to be eligible. Limit one (1) free entry per person. Duplicate and incomplete entries will not be accepted.

b. Paid Entry

Participants may purchase additional entries for $25 per entry. Visit [Website Link] to purchase entries online. Paid entries must be completed by March 9th, 2025 at 6:00pm CST. There is no limit on the number of additional entries a participant may purchase.

Note: Purchasing entries does not increase your odds of winning compared to free entries.

5. Prize

The Grand Prize is a two-day, three-night pheasant hunting experience in Iowa for one person and one dog, including lodging, meals, and a hunting guide. The prize is valued at $2,500.

  • Travel expenses and the cost of an Iowa hunting license are the sole responsibility of the winner.
  • The prize is non-transferable and cannot be substituted or redeemed for cash.

6. Winner Selection and Notification

One winner will be selected in a random drawing conducted on March 13th, 2025 from all eligible entries received. The winner will be notified via the contact information provided at the time of entry within 1 (one) business day of the drawing.

The winner must respond within 48 hours of notification to claim the prize. Failure to respond or meet eligibility requirements will result in disqualification, and an alternate winner will be selected.

7. Winner Requirements

The winner will be required to:

  • Sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
  • Sign a liability waiver releasing Sponsor and associated parties from any and all liability related to participation in the hunt.
  • Provide proof of eligibility, including age and the ability to obtain an Iowa hunting license.
  • Provide their own firearm in compliance to Iowa pheasant hunting regulations.
  • If bringing a dog, proof of current vaccination records will be required.

If the winner does not comply with these requirements, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected.

8. Taxes

The winner is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes associated with the prize. A 1099 tax form may be issued to the winner for the value of the prize.

9. Limitation of Liability

By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its employees, affiliates, and partners from any and all liability arising from participation in the Sweepstakes or use of the prize, including but not limited to accidents, injuries, or losses incurred during travel or the hunting experience.

10. Publicity

By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to allow Sponsor to use their name, likeness, and any associated media from the hunting experience for promotional purposes, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

11. General Conditions

Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Sweepstakes if any fraud, technical issues, or other factors impair its integrity or fairness. Sponsor's decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes.

12. Privacy Policy

All personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Sweepstakes and will not be shared with third parties, except as necessary to fulfill the prize.

13. Governing Law

The Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of Iowa. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Iowa.
